WONDERWALL MINDFUL ART WORKSHOPS

Wonderwall is an engaging and inclusive Mindful Art workshop providing the perfect opportunity for teams and individuals to de-stress and channel their creativity. With an introduction highlighting that no “artistic” talents are necessary and including a guided mindfulness activity, the session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, culminating in the creation of a “Wonderwall” – an inspirational installation that can be displayed for ongoing benefit to all. Wonderwall provides attendees with valuable stress-management techniques and is a great team-builder.

ABOUT MEL

Mel Lisney is a Harrogate-based artist who, with over 20 years’ experience working as a commercial trainer, has dedicated herself to promoting emotional wellbeing. Her signature works incorporate the intriguing effects of annealed metal leaf to create decorative, often dramatic, pieces. Drawing inspiration from Art Nouveau and Art Deco, Mel contrasts the naturalistic with more architectural, geometric elements. Each piece invites the viewer to enjoy the play of light on the metallic components encouraging a mindful moment of “slow looking”, to experience a restorative pause in our busy lives.

Wonderwall mindful art workshops allow participants, from business and private groups, to get hands-on and indulge in creative play – often not experienced since childhood!

Mel’s work features at exhibitions and in commercial galleries. She is a founding member of Marlow Art Trail and regularly displays work in North Yorkshire Open Studios and FEVA (Knaresborough). She is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Creative Practice at Harrogate College and is available for private and commercial commissions.
